Case Study:
Booster Pump Package for Industrial Water Reuse
Water is a precious and expensive resource. Large users of water, such as industrial processors, are increasingly looking for ways to manage their water consumption. One way to decrease net water use is to capture some or all of the water that would typically be seen as outfall or runoff. This water can then be reintroduced back into the process for many applications such as irrigation, dust abatement or wash down.
Recently, a bulk materials handling facility decided to reclaim water that would typically be discharged into the ocean. The facility was buying potable water from the regional district for industrial uses. Plus the runoff discharge was subject to permitting costs based on out flow volume. The bulk materials handling facility decided to reclaim the water and reintroduce it back into their plant.
Smith Cameron Pump Solutions supplied a cost effective ‘constant pressure' pump skid, complete with VFD and PLC control. The custom pump skid provides a constant 100psi in the plant water distribution system, regardless of flow, up to 900 usgpm.
